Strike the Gong and Get Leid!!!

When the go-go dancers finish their set, they will surround you at your table for their drink and traditional Thai toast “chai yo” (cheers) and “chokdee.” (good luck), a kiss from each of the Chiang-mai ladies on your cheek, and then you’ll get leid right there at your table. You won’t get laid in the sense of having sex, but you will get leid in the Hawaiian sense of a floral lei placed around your neck by one or more of our sexy Chaing-mai ladies.

You will also receive a certificate pronouncing “I got leid at Club Foxy Lady, Chiangmai, Thailand.” You can decline the certificate if you wish or you can proudly display it along with the other pictures and memorabilia of your visit to Chiangmai.

We also had our Christmas party this year. The girls got to pick a number from a hat and match it with the number of their gift. And as a special surprise Santa came to see who had been naughty and who had been nice.

It is quite funny when the bar girls start to sing Christmas carols though. Remember the scene from “A Christmas Story” when little Ralph and his family go to the Chinese food restaurant to eat and the staff start to sing “jingle bells”? It sounds more like “jinger rells, jinger rells” and is really cute with all the girls wearing a Santa hat and a g-string! This week saw another election day close, though not as bad as last week, we only had to close for one day. It was also Christmas, in case some of you missed it! Here in Thailand the only thing that really looks like Christmas are all the bar girls in Chiang Mai dressed up with there little outfits on. But I guess in other parts of the world you guys don’t get to see that much, huh?

Well, this week was another “only in Thailand” sort of thing.

It just so happens that there was a pre-election to the election later this month. I went for a short holiday to the mountains up in Pai, and boy was I cold. Ever try camping when it’s around 2-5 degrees Celsius?! I never did and won’t be doing it again. Anyway what happened while I was away was on Thursday the MAN decides to notify all bars in the entire country of Thailand to go dry and force them to not serve alcohol on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If they get caught serving, and some have, it’s a mandatory night in jail, 10,000 baht fine and you must forfeit all sales for the day. Thanks for the notice!!! So during the height of the busy season we had to close for 3 days, not to mention again on the 23rd for the ACTUAL election. But, TIT, This is Thailand.

On a happier front I have changed the hiring policies a bit and we now have over 30 bar girls working for us. Six new girls have started this week alone! We have got a stunner who just came up from Bangkok, I’ll see if I can upload a photo later. Seems things are really starting to pick up….
